The Florita Riesling
Wine
Jim Barry The Florita Riesling is sourced from one of the oldest Clare Valley vineyards. The Florita Vineyard ('little flower' in Spanish) is synonymous with Australian Riesling.
This is the vineyard where legendary winemaker, John Vickery, sourced the grapes for his great Leo Buring Rieslings of the 1960s and 1970s.
First released in 2004, The Florita Riesling is made from grapes hand selected from individual rows where the terra rossa soils barely cover the limestone below.
The fruit is picked in the chill of night to precisely fill the winery's membrane press, used to preserve the fruit’s delicate flavours and natural acidity. Only the best free run juice is used.
Pale green straw, Jim Barry The Florita Riesling has intense floral aromas, classic citrus flavours and a taut, driving acidity. Made only in the finest vintages.
A benchmark dry Riesling. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
